Christmas Lights switch on in St Neots!
St Neots annual christmas light switch which takes place in November is a grand affair and happens in the middle of St Neots town center.
Its alive with food stands, fair ground rides, local entertainment and also MAGIC!!
The whole event put on by St Neots council runs from 10:00am until about 10:00pm with the big switch on about 8:00pm the whole town got involved on a cold slightly damp Sunday.
Now what can you be doing for all that time, well theres plenty of food stands, stalls raising money for the local community even the mayor was running the tombola. Has well as all this theres always a big stage with things running all day from local acoustic guitarists, dance troops, bands and a few local theatrical groups performing bits of up and coming plays, Oh yeah and they had a magician.
This is all ran and kept together by Gary Lee and Mark Hansard to DJ’s from Black Cat 107 Radio which is a local Cambridgeshire radio station.
I was booked just to perform close up magic to the people in the crowds but Gary & Lee being very persuasive people got me on stage for two separate sets to the crowd that had gathered. (Good job I can adapt).
Mulled wine was being drank by the barrel as the Mayor of St Neots announced to a huge cheer that Miss Cambridgeshire had arrived to turn on the lights. It was a great day and I’d definitely recommend it if your in the area next year and hopefully I’ll see you there.
